On the 4th day of each Institute, teachers will showcase their projects. It is important to establish professional protocols for a dignified and valuable experience.
Each Institute will have showcase venues to meet the needs of the group. Large institutes will have smaller showcase settings while smaller institutes will have large group presentations. In any case, please consider the time and effort that all groups have put into their creation. Please consider the following protocols during the showcase:
No computers will be used during the showcase except the ones from which the projects are being showcased.
Cell phone needs to be silenced.
Conversations should only occur between presentations.
Respect for the effort of the groups should be modeled by the audience at all times.
Today I found EVERYTHING that we learned can be used in my second grade classroom. I was very encouraged by this technology. My "aha" moment was the whole day, because I am amazed that I was able to do all of the assignments correctly.

How to use all of this great stuff?!? I hope to create my own photo story as an example to students and then have them complete a project in which they make their own photo story to summarize what they have learned about a topic. Maybe I could even add audio to my web site or make a video of my students learning in my classroom!
Making movies was FUN. I can imagine my students using this tool to enhance their autobiography projects. The programs we used today were relatively easy to understand. The "aha" moment for me was when I watched my movie and saw all of today's work in one finished product.

The group project was a great idea. It allowed our group to come up with a presentation that we can take back to school. As far as challenges, our group had a hard time with the audio piece, but eventually figured it out. If we had more time we could have made the voice over and pictures match. Overall, the project today showed everyone the amount of time needed if we were to do this in our classroom.

So we had to pull the pieces together into the storyboard. Strange! The group experience was great. Everyone had a task and completed it through trail and error...we worked well together. I think we made the project more difficut than it needed to be. We did have trouble with uploading audio and timing within the program. I am sure with more time devoted to the project.... all the bugs could have been worked out. Loved the class!
